Tommy the Daddy!
Yesterday Tommy was walking around with Tio in his arms saying 'beebie, beebie' (read: baby). So I wrapped Tio in Tommy's nappy (he tends to carry fabric nappies as comfortors) so he had a blanket to keep him in. He spent hours wandering around cradling Tio in his arms, treating him like a real baby, making sure he was comfortable and could get to sleep.

Ok so that's the deal...
Vic decided to defrost some bolognese for Tommy's lunch today, ofcourse I love the idea so I had some as well...

Instead of Bolognese Vic had defrosted some (over-spiced) Chill that we cooked the best part of 3 months go. Now getting to my point here...
He thought it was hot but wanted more and more untell he got to the momment where he just couldn't face it anymore which was when he just got up and feasted on Vic's salad... lol
Poor thing.
So yeap... he loves it but a big no no to to much peper on it! lol

Recently Tommy has being doing anything possible to avoid having his nappy changed. A few days ago he realised I was coming to change him and started pushing me away everytime I got near. Other days he just runs (and he's really quick when he wants to be).
This morning he woke me up and told me he was wet and that he wanted a bottle. I went to get the bottle and left Yuri in charge of the changing. By the time I got back Yuri was fast asleep again and Tommy lying next to him. Yuri got up and tried to get him to move and he just stared into space keeping totally still - like if he didn't move we wouldn't see him. Then when Yuri suggested he got up to get changed, he asked for a kiss and turned over, closed his eyes and started snoring. Unluckily for him we know he's only playing. And he got changed.

Tommy always drinks the bath water. It's one of those things that no matter how much we try to stop him and teach him that it's not a good thing to do, he still continues with.
Last night he was sticking his head straight into the bath to drink the water and coughing and spluttering because it went up his nose. When I asked him if the water had gone up his nose he agreed. Minutes later, he tried again and whilst spluttering away he told me 'nose!'.
Then he threw a cup full of water over the side of the bath so I washed his hair as punishment!

Super Tommy!!!
Last one... welll... I think he's been watching to much of The Incredibles, Alex had a dream... he dreamed that We went to visit him in Brasilia... and Vic and I had had a new baby... and Tommy was speaking portuguese perfectly! Not only that, he would communicate " telepatically" with Tommy and he wasn't moving his lips... when I read that, had to lough a bit... lol... then I asked Tommy: " Tommy do you have super Powers?" question that he answered with a very eloquent "Yes" by nodding his head... scary uh???? lol... I better start controling what I think in front of him just in case!!! lol!!!!!
And according to Alex... next baby will be a boy... :( I wanted a Girl!!! lol
anyways... gotta fly or will be late for a meeting!
TTFN!
The birthday blog
How can a birthday last three days? Well it does if your name's Tommy.
Saturday started with a birthday lunch at Rodizio Rico. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends in attendance. Tommy seemed to be most impressed with dessert - although not the passionfruit mousse. He also showed a worrying like of a piece of discarded beef fat. But Tommy wasn't there to eat. The highlight of his time was running round and round the table (with various people cahsing him at times) and generally making sure he was the centre of everyone's attention. Oh, and there was the added fun of emptying thousands of advertising cards over the floor.
Unsurprisingly, he fell asleep in the car on the way home. We woke him up to get out and he wasn't impressed. Beth tried to convince him that he wanted to open his presents but he was totally unimpressed and quickly went to bed. Unfortunately for Beth, she left very unhappy, having had to unwrap (and re-wrap) one of the presents to get a reacting from me. He was clearly exhausted by the whole day because when he woke up, the only thing he wanted to do was to lie on the sofa with a bottle (until he fell asleep again).
Sunday we went to Tia Uka's new house: a joint housewarming and Tommy's second party. He was highly impressed with his new Thomas hat and Thomas trolley rucksack, which he dragged all through the mud in the garden, and up and down the hall and kitchen. And there was a Thomas cake. He threw a monster tantrum when he saw it in the cupboard but wasn't allowed to have it, so much so that we had cake before lunch. Tommy (and various adults who are old enough to know better) enjoyed blowing out the candles. Tommy also enjoyed prodding the icing around and ripping the covering off the side of the engine.
Monday was the actual day. Two years old. We didn't make a fuss first thing because he had the health visitor coming. Once that was over we let him opened his presents. The first thing he opened was a golf set. Once he'd got that open he was totally uninterested in anything else. Yuri had to convince him to divert his attention by half opening the next present and telling him he could see Bob Bob (the Builder). Then he went for that one and insisted on having the box open so he could play with the toys. And the whole thing started all over again. Meanwhile, Yuri was getting incredibly frustrated that Tommy wouldn't just open all the presents at once. I personally thought it was very cute - it's not like he's going to act like that with presents for much longer. The rest of the day was spent more quietly. He slept, he watched the Incredibles (another present), played with his new toys and tried to refuse to go to bed at the end of the day. But I think he enjoyed it.
Am sure there'll be some pictures up when Yuri gets around to it - I don't know how to work the thing!

Dad brought me back yesterday evening and as we arrived Tommy and Yuri met us at the gate. Whilst we stopped and waited for the barrier to open Tommy tried to open the car door (not helped by the fact that Dad had locked them whilst driving through Brixton). When we got out of the car he didn't want to know me. I picked him up and he launched himself towards gadad (yes,he says it now). I'm quite hurt really. lol
He also has a chipped front tooth. Well ok, chipped might be an understatement - there's a huge chunk missing. At granny's house there's two stairs in the hallway. Normally he's very good and climbs up and down without problems. However, he's recently learnt how to jump. When granny caught him he was standing at the top of these stairs getting ready to jump but as she rushed to catch him he jumped before she had a chance. Hence the missing piece of tooth. I am totally sure he knew what he was doing.

We spent the afternoon researching into the next place to live. Whilst in Shepherd's bush we went to a Chinese buffet for lunch. As usual, Tommy was very impressed to be eating at a table like a big boy (note: next flat must have dining room table). Garlic mushrooms, canned fruit (what sort of restaurant serves canned fruit?) and ice cream were big hits. Aubergine and chicken cashews were not. Guess we still have to teach the boy about variety. Shouldn't complain really though, he does have to get his fruit and veg.
