For days last week Yuri was trying to get me to give him ideas for a mother's day present. The closest I could get was a possible manicure. Maybe. In the end, what I got was a book I liked the look of from the church bookshop. Good because it was something I probably would've bought anyway.
But, the best thing was the present Tommy gave me (albeit under force - he wanted to keep it for himself) that evening. He made a plate with shiny sticky stars on while he was at nursery. It was so cute and definately a step up from his drawings. I think I might have to go and get him a sticker book so I can encourage this artwork.

Fix Car!!!
That's the newest ready made phrase that Tommy has come up with... lol!
He broke another one of his car (actually it was my nice Chrismas Prezzie Mini Remote Car but hey... if Tommy say "Tommy's" so it it Tommy's... lol) and then he came to me saying "Daddy, Fix Car". Lol... I have to give it to you... Vic might be right when she said that the boy is getting a lot smarter since he's been staying with Daddy at home... :) And I am happy with that. :) Only not very when I can't really work during the day cuz of it... but hey... :)
The fact is that he is really starting to formulate propper phrases and putt them to test.
So cute. :)

Tommy had a huge day yesterday. We started off by taking him to get his hair cut (whilst Yuri was taking photos for the salon's website). We tried to sit him on the chair on his own but he was having none of it so I ended up having to sit him on my lap, at which point he decided to be as good as a boy can be when he doesn't particularly want to be messed. It took some effort but the guy cutting his hair was good, and now he has short hair (which was spiked with gel yesterday) that looks so much better than the uncut mop he was sporting beforehand. With any luck this cut will last for another six months so we can avoid the whole episode for as long as possible.
Then we took him off to Baby Praise. From previous experience we know that he's better there when we're not with him so we tend to leave him with one of the leaders. We went off for a coffee and when we got back we snuck in the back of the room and watched him (without him realising we were there). We went up to him when they asked for all the families to get together and he started hugging us both and wouldn't let the three of us separate.
We had lunch in Subway. I like it coz as long as you don't go overboard, it's relatively low in points. Tommy liked his little kiddies roll. I thought he could be adventurous and let him have salad in it. He took the ham out and ate that first. Then he picked at the salad and ate a bit of bread with cheese on it. Before we left I tried to get him to have some of the last bits of bread which he refused - there was nothing left on them. He was quite impressed with his megablocks palm tree toy that he got with his meal - much better than the things McDonalds and Burger King usually give away. He also decided that he wanted to have his drink in a proper cup like Yuri and I. He had to have a lid and a straw with his drink.
We were going to go to the park but it was so cold we headed across to Oxford Street to get us all some gloves (seeing as we cleverly left all of ours at home). We also managed to get some birthday presents for Tommy - some more books and the Incredibles DVD. Yes, we're bad parents, we let him watch TV if he wants.
Whilst Yuri and I were at the Praise Party Tommy went to nursery. He was quite happy to run around and ignore us. By the time we'd registered him he was happily sitting in a police car (much more fun than one of the regular cars) and we thought we'd make a quick exit before he realised we were going. No such luck. He saw us start to leave and said "bye bye" and waved to us. Finally it seems that we're starting to make progress from the regular screaming and clinging until he realises it's all ok. When Yuri picked him up he had a lollipop of wisdom which he'd found in a game. Unfortunately when you start to eat the lollipop of wisdom it becomes very sticky and sticky hands are yuk yuk. Needless to say, the sticky lollipop of wisdom went in the bin when he wasn't looking.
And, the icing on the cake: he slept until nearly 10 this morning!

Roarrrrrrr!!! :)
Tommy is impossible... :)
After haven most of my dinner (whch I can;t really complain about... let's say I am not quite the veggie sort of guy... lol), and making me reccord a Bob The Builder VCD... just so he could whatch one episode... lol... came the sleepy time fight. lol
But he is so cute! we spent the best part of 10 minutes asking Tio if the tooth of the lion on "That's not my lion" was yuk yuk or not. lol...
He's growing so fast. We left him at mum's for the last 3 days and when Isaw him when I picked him up today... I was in shock. :)
Our little baby is a propper boy now....
It was great to see him waking up from his afternoon siesta and see me and say Daddy!!! and run so I could pick him up... then hear everything he's been up to for the past 3 days... even tho I can;t understand much of what he says... :)
News tho... he now likes to go for walks. He gets his shoesys... take them to you so you can put the on him and starts: "Come on walk!" lol... and pulls you on dorection of the door till u take him. Sunday we're taking him swimming. Definatelly... Sunday, not tomorrow, because tomorrow we're trying to get his haircut! while I photograph Amazon... :)
LEt's see what happens... lol

This evening when we were trying to get Tommy to sleep, he sat in the semi-darkness of his room with "That's Not My Lion" open in front of him, asking Tio (his toy lion) whenther the lion's mouth in the book was yuk yuk!
He also threw mini tantrums because Yuri wouldn't take him swimming and then because we didn't have a Bob Bob dvd to put on for him. Thomas just wouldn't do.

Whenever Yuri and I are on the phone we always try to get Tommy to say hello. I say try as it usually ends up that we hold the phone to his ear and he listens to whatever the person on the end of the line happens to be saying.
Yuri gave him the phone today and I actually had a conversation. He kept saying "mummy, it's a car". Now I wasn't too sure what he was going on about as I was fairly sure that they were at home and it's not like you can fit many cars into our box-flat. In the end I had to cut him off because no matter how much me or Yuri told him, he wouldn't give the phone back to Yuri.
It turns out that the car he was telling me about was on the TV. Yuri and Tommy spent the day watching The Fast and the Furious and Too Fast Too Furious. Talk about constructive play.

Sooooooooooooooo Much fun!!! Poor tommy was exhausted at the end of today!
After spending the whole weekend chasing after poor humby (hamby... well whatever u spell HandBag like... Well.. that's not her name, that's how I call her is the closest I could get... lol... and btw, she is Bethany's cat) and having as much fun as you can get without Daddy (which I have just found out that this is quite a lot... and that he only remembered of me once!!!)... but hey continuing the story... after he cabe back we went to the Rain Forest Cafe .
We've posted some pics we took there, click here to see them.

He was dead impressed with the huge Butterfly on top of our 1st table (1st because we asked to be moved to a more... central position then they moved us to sit beside the fish tank which was a HIT... Tommy lofed the fish!! lol). And he absolutelly adored the big moving monkeys on the walls. At least it looks like if becaus his jaws actually fell oppened when the Monkey moved right in front of him and then he said "Hello Monkey". So so soooooooooo Cute... hehehe...
He was absolutelly overwelmed with everything going on arround. The Sounds of the forest arround, the animals moving, the FishTank, the big "bootyfly"... no wonder he wasn't much interested on the food... apart from stealing fryes from my plate and Vic's. Oh well... he sort of demolished the Hana banana whatever... I say sort of because I had to eat the "yacky yacky" cream from the top of it so he could have the banana and some of the ice cream...
Not complaining... it was quite good!
Apart from the "salty" price of the bill at the end, it was definatelly a hit!!!
So, we pretty much have an idea of where we're going to comemorate TB's birthday... at least as a treat... :)
After that we went to church where aparently he participated of all the activities on the nursery... and had loads more of fun!!! When I got there to pick him up he was dancing and bouncing holding on to "Tio"(his teddy lion). We're actually thinking about putting him on the Hill Nursery as a "part time student" if we move closer to Nothing Hill. If not... well we'll see.
No wonder he was fsat asleep the moment we boarded the bus on the way back home...
Bless his Soul... :)
Welll gotta get some z'sssssss...

I am so Proud of the T-Boy!!!!
Yesterday (yeap... it's 4am of next day now...) he helped me making sandwiches!!! and he Did his own one as I was making my breakfast. He asked for Butter, so I buttered a piece of bread (that he parted in 2), he asked for Cheese, so I gave him some (and he put it inside the bread) and he closed it, waited for mine to be ready and sat down with me whatching Thomas the Tank Engine as we ate together... :)
And he is now saying full sentences and all!!! :)
Ma'boy!!! he is growing!!!!

This evening I took Tommy to the supermarket with me. Walking. Luckily I only had a few bits to get because it was certainly a challenge.
On the way there, he couldn't make up his mind whether he wanted to walk or to be carried, which is getting a bit much because he's gotten really heavy all of a sudden.
Throughout the supermarket he kept throwing himself on the floor and screaming when I wouldn't let him go down the particular aisles he wanted (i.e. I don't want half of Elephant to see him make a dash for the bottom alcohol shelf!).
As we left the supermarket he made a dash for the Bob the Builder ride and I don't have the heart to refuse the first time he asks. However, when he got off and decided the Tweenies ride was the way to go, I wasn't going to start emptying more coins into the thing. Which was fine, until I decided that there'd been enough sitting on rides and it was time to go home. Cue more throwing himself to the floor. I'm quite proud of the way I handled myself: no trying to drag him away, no screaming or shouting, just let him get on with it and we were soon off on our way again.
He enjoyed pushing his way through the revolving door at the entrace to our block but there was more throwing himself onto the floor (again) when I wouldn't let him stay and push the button for the lift more than once. And again when I wouldn't let him go up the stairs instead of down. And again when he decided he didn't want to go any further.
Then he decided to roll onto his back and giggle at me. He got up and crawled off, then stood and ran all the way back to our door, giggling. That few steps and the part where he gave Bob the Builder a kiss made the whole thing worth it.

Most evenings Tommy's already had dinner by the time I get home. Yesterday, seeing as Yuri was trying to look after him and work, he didn't. So well all sat down together and ate. Unfortunately we don't have a table to sit at (our flat's too small) so it's very hard to teach Tommy that he should wait until we've all finished before he goes off to play. Instead, we settle for letting him run to each of us (usually trying to feed us our own food).
After a while, he got bored. The next thing we know, he's taken his half full bowl of pasta and put it on his head. Everytime we tried to take it off, he got there before us and clamped his hands over it saying yuk yuk.
I should admit, it's my fault. I taught him to use those bowls as a hat. What can I say? Normally we give him a plate.

The Boy doesnpt seem intersted on stopping to grow!!!!
Lol...
After not seeing hm for 2 1/2 full days he seems to be a LOT bigger than I remember!!!!
Explanation... I had to wake up and leave for a photoshoot on monday at 5 am and he did not wake up untill about 8 and when I was back... a little surprise.. mum had kidnaped him.. lol.... (Vic had Weightwhatchers meeting to go and mum could not stay for much longer so she took TB to her house... problem is that I could not get him till wednesday... but hey!
He is saying full phrases now and actually making himself be understood... which in itself is a problembecause now we know what he wants and it is usually something we can't let him have... but hey.... :)
He is staying at home latelly. We've had to make some cuts in our budget and let's say that £140.00/week is a but to elevated for us... Specially when the Tax Credits don't cover much of it... But that's not the Point... My point is that I now know all the CBBIES programs songs and they are stuck in my head!!! lol!!! Don;t take me wrong it's been a great to spend time with him! Love it he's so funny... lol... To bad I don;t have much time to Work.. lol
Solutio for that is... Mum has decided not to go back to the US as she had planned... and decided to stay in the UK and take care of Tommy as long as we need. Which is great becaus he spends hours on the window looking for "Vovo" (Granny in Portuguese).
Must make sure he goes to the next Cell meeting... His lil friend Samuel couldn't stop saying "Where's Tommy"... aw cute!!! lol...
anyways... gotta try and get some't done.
Zya!
