Ok... now that's freaking me out!

Once Upon a time we used to have a little baby... now he is so independent that I barelly recognize the tiny lil thing...

Today He was telling me he was hungry (that after assaulting the fridge and having 2 yogurts) so I went and cooked him a Cheese Sandwich (I also found the cheese out od the case and with little tommy sized bites on it... lol). While I was distracted he took a tangerine from the fruit bowl and took it to the livingroom.. he was to quiet so I came and check on what he was doing... to my surprise he was sitting on the sofa, hed peeled and was eating the tangerine, having left the peel all over the living room...

When I went to dress him up to go and pick mum up frm the train station he decided he didn;t want the shoes I choose... "Oh no, it's to late, It's broken, I don't like it. Take it OFF!" The shoe had a little hole on the side so it was condemned...

God... he now vices exactly what he wants...

That's Freking me out... lol... I'm REALLY getting to old for this!!

PS: Picked up mum from the train station... we had to stop at early learning center to get a present for Tommy... she's got him a huge car park toy thing with 20 cars... God She spoils him to much!!!

ADHD

Just dona a test that worried me a bit...

tommy, just like myself has all simptoms of ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).
Not that I didn't know that... but I was a bit worried so decided to research it on the internet...
and aparently, acording to 6 different websites specialized on it... he does has it.

gota remember to mention it to the house visitor when she comes on monday.

Changing subjects... counting to 1,2, 3 works on tommy just as well as it used to work on me!! lol
I've told him that if he doesn'tobey I'll smack his bum... so whenever I start "One..." he gets in his hay to do what he is suposed or undo what he shouldn;t have done!!!

Lol... nothing like a bit of old fashion child psychology!!! lol

Love it! ;)

Rain!

Tommy Loves the rain!! :)

Vic took a day off on wednesday to stay with Tommy at home so I could go to a meeting. They went to the library first thing in the morning... the moment they got on the other side of the roas the rain decided to pour down...

It was violent... lol... and they Got soaked... but aparnetly tommy would lift his lil hands to the sky and shout RAIN!!!... and well... he loved it! :)

He and Vic were soaked body and soul by the time they got back... But I hadn't seen Tommy so excited after some activity for a good time! lol...

Gonna get Vic to post the details.

I'm not tired!!!

"I'm not tired!" was the vehement response I got from tommy today when I told him to go back to sleep (at about 5:30am today he decided he wanted to sleep with us, so he pushed me to one side and got himself under the cover, closed his eyes and fell asleep lol) :)

This little things are the reason that keep me amazed... I mean... little things that he learns God knows from where andjust pops out... just like that...

I can;t stop thinking that I am growing old! lol...

Yesterday me and Vic had an argument and he made everything, I mean everything, even telling us both off and almost mputing us into the naughty corner so we would stop... at some point I was really annoyed with him... then.. I looked at him and he was so cute! I swear... some times I really don;t know where I would be if it wasn't for Tommy and all the silly things he does to make sure we're ok.

"What's wrong"whith that cute little face can operate miracles. And I thank God every day for TB. :)

The Polar Express

We have a new hit!!!
The Poar express...
I was looking for something to keep Tommy distracted so I could get some stuff done today... then I remember that we had a copy of The Polar Express...

No need to say that it was a tremendous hit!!! :)

Tommy loved it, and watched it from begining to end. Even chearing on the action moments... lol...

Gotta remember that for the future... ;)

He had a nose bleed today.. Methinks he was trying to pick a boggey or something like that and cut inside his nose... poor thing!

Well.. Got stuff to do...

Newsflash

Life's been going on... :)

Tommy's feeling a lot better and looking better as well... Specially now that he took the bandaid and some of the scab of his wound... He simpy took it all off and gave it in my hand... lol...
Hopeless... :)

He's been asking to go swimming again... Gotta have to make some time to do that some time this week... Gotta first fing out where is the closest swimming pool first... lol.. I think we're both a bit spoiled for having one at home before... but hey... :)

The new flat is great for Tommy... to bad about the carpet... which is clean all over... all over but in a little patchs right in front of the TV which is where T-Boy's HQ is located. :) There's where he commands his empire... DVDs, CBEEBIES, Toys and complete monopoly of the TV.... lol...

I love those moments of peace and quietness when he goes for his naps on mid afternoon... Even though they are becoming shorter and shorter they give me time to get on with the rest of life... Even tho I miss his cheekey smilles and his lil face coming to the putter all the time and sayion "Hello!!", wanting attention... But I gotta remember that I have work to do...

And talking about that... Let me try and work a bit...

Yuri Posting

I am starting to get upset with Blogger...
I can;t post from my account... aaaarrrg!!!
So well... lets post from Vic's then...

We had quite an interesting weekend... spent mostlly t the hospital... sunday that is.
Bouncy Tommy decided to bounce on the sofa and bounced straight to the coffee table... poor thing!!! :( It was quite a deep cut as well.

No need to say that I sort of panniqued wen I saw it. :) but all in all everything went quite ok... ish.
But at the momment I am not gonna post about it as I am enfuriated enough with Blogger to remember how enfuriated I was with The NHS on sunday... So, Will probably let Vic tell this one. I took some pics with my phone when we got to the hospital, by then he had cheered up a lot and was playing all arround.

Poor tommy had to had his head glued... Better than stitched I supose... but hey...

I'll upload a video we reccorded on Vic's parents house where you can see the stitches... well... glued thing... It really breaks my heart... but it was bound to happen... I mean I don't know any boy as hyper as tommy. :)

There it goes... doccumented and posted.

I was in the kitchen getting dinner ready this evening, when Yuri hollered for me to come quick and see something.

We were having pizza and breaded mushrooms with a garlic type dip. And I'd left the pot of dip on the table. When I got there, Tommy was sitting at the table, he'd peeled the lid off of the dip pot and was eating it with a fork. "Mmmm, yummy" he said. To garlic dip.

Generations...

Well they say some generations are bound to repete some of the mistakes of the past ones...
Well... Prove of that happened today.

When I was little... I was put to sleep on my aunt's bed (I was just learning to go to the loo then, so no nappies). At some point in the night I needed to pee... So I got up in the middle of the night, on my mind I was going to the loo.. in real life... well... the living room... so I aimed to my aunt's sofa and... well... I felt about 1 litre lighter... :)

Today I was changing Tommy's nappies, and as he does some times he ran away from me. the phone rang so I thought he could wait a bit as he was playing and had just peed all a hell of a load on his nappies... Well... I was wrong... he was hidding and well... before he could get out of his hide between the sofas it was clear he couldn;t hold for much longger... and peed all over the side of the sofa... Well... not quite the sam thing I did tho... I was sleeping... He was wide awake...

Poor thing... :) U gotta love him really!!!! :)

We went to get mummy at the tran station today... It started raining in the middle of the way. He LOVED to SPLASH on the puddles... all of them... from here till the station... and aparently all the way back! It will be the first time he didn;t ask to be carried alegating that he is lazy!

Awww... Our boy is growing!!! :)

TTFN!

Now just hear (read) that!!!

Yesterday was quite the day...

Tommy woke up at 4:30am and asked to whatch "Reign Of Fire" Because the dragon looks like a dinossaur that flyes up'a sky! lol... cute if it wasn;t for the fact that he wanted it at 4:30am... Not only that but he wanted me to read a book we got on the library about dinossaurs as we watched the Film.

Talking about Library... at about 7:30pm, when he woke up from his seccond nap of the day he decided he wanted to take his books back to the library... lol. Well The problem was that The library was already closed and I couldn;t take him anyways because I had a job to finish. So he kept going to the door and trying to open it whilst holding all the books he brought from the library so he could go and take them back himself. lol... when he saw that he could not do it and that I wouldn't help he decided to throw the biggest tantrum ever.. I mean neighbors might have thought that I was killing him or some't lol.

So he got sent to his room again (I'm getting good at that... lol) once he calmed down I took him downstairs to check out post and take the rubish. Ofcourse we had to take his ball and bike that didn't have much use (well the ball did actually). Problem is: He saw a cat... and... decided to hunt it... of course the cat didn't like the idea and climbed up a wall and disapeared to the other side. :) TB wanted the cat by all means... but hey... :)

Up we go crying upstairs again... Had dinner... had a shower and to bed we go.

Well... Me and Vic usually watch a movie or series after food and put him into bed before going to bed ourselves... and so we did it as usual last night... We usually leave the livingroom door almost shut so the noise doesn't disturb him. then I heard a thump noise and stopd a seccon. Thinking it was the upstairs neighbor walking heavilly again I ignored it after a while and so we continued watching the movie. 15 minutes later someone at the livingroom door tries to get the door open a little bit to see better inside the living room and ended up kicking one of his golf balls and making noise... all I hear is "oh oh!" lol! as vic gets up to put him in bed he comes witht he usual behavieor he has when he did something wrong... "Hugh... awwww... kiss!! Dinossaurs" and then to bed he goes...

He stayed undetected at the door for 15 minutes!!! God... he is getting good at hide ans seek!!!
lol!!!

First time grounded

Today is a historical day!!!
It is the first time Tommy gets grounded and sent to his room!

I am quite proud of myself really! :)
Ist that the end of the terror reight of Sir Thomas A. Pires??? lol...
He has decided to throw a tantrum because we wouldn;t carry him arround instead of him just walking back home with us from the supermarket... That means no reason for me to feel guilty then is it???

Ah well... There it goes... he is to saty in his room untill he calmed down and stopped crying... and so far he is complying!

Let's se how it goes...

Poor Tommy

that's the answer I've got from him 2 minutes ago when I asked how he is feeling: "Poor Tommy"

I agree... It broke my heart yesterday when he told us "Please Go Home" and kept trying to takes by our hands out of the hospital where we took him to check why he was so rough, puking and other things... We were afraid he was dihaidrated or something like that.

Well he has a lil infection... and that's the problem... and well... a bit of a cold.

gotta try and give him his medicine again...

Newsflash

We've been to the beach last weekend.
Brighton...

I don't really know if what hapened was exactly the plan but hey... we spent more time inside the car then actually in Brighton... :)

When we got there... someone didn;t really like the stonny beach or the cold water on the sea. lol...
Or having to wait while the carrucel guy accomodated everyone else to start going, and specially didn't like the sun! hehehe

One thing he did like was the attractions on the pier... The Bouncing nets, fishing for stuffed Nemos, trowing balls to get cuddly toys, and least but not last, the huge inflated slide where he at first just wanted to climb and boss the ther kiddies arroundn from the top (well... he did slide once before that... Methinks was a bit scarry for him... lol... to tall...) then he decided that sliding on his belly could be VERY fun...

Got REALLY mad when we decided that was time to go back home... but calmed down when we let him "drive" the car while parked...

It was quite a good trip all in all...

Only downside is the cold that TB and Vic got because of the air-con.
Tommy's been coughing quite a lot...

I tryed to get him some cough medidicine and he refuses to have it... well... going a bit further... he actually discovered how to unlock the lead of the bedicine flask and pured all over himself and the livingroom floor while I was distracted fixing his train (that he had just taken apaert... hummmm... coincidence... I don't think so...)

Well...

Got things to do now...

Comming soon... The new Version for t-boy.co.uk... ;)

Wednesday I took Tommy out to get some shopping. I'd intended to let him choose a magazine but when we got to the shop it was already closed. Instead I ended up buying him one of these.
For Christmas he got a more basic version of this one - with the track and a train that you pull back to make go. Until recently he's not shown much interest in it, but suddenly building train tracks has become one of his favourite things to do. When I saw that the track on this one fitted with the track on the one he already has, I had to get it. And he loves it (unfortunately for us he wants us to love it too - and I find watching a train go round and round for three solid hours a little tedious).

On Thursday evening we took Tommy swimming. He's got one of these but it's still scary how independent he's being. He doesn't care if we're next to him anymore, and is quite happy to go swimming the length of the pool on his own. I'd bought him a pair of googgles earlier in the week and he loved wearing them until he decided they were too tight. I'll admit they probably were - and have already loosened them for next time.

When we got back I was hanging his swimming shorts out to try whilst Yuri was getting the water warm enough for his shower. When I got back to the bathroom, Tommy was holding himself, peeing up against the side of the bath, like he was standing at the toilet. It was hilarious.
Yesterday we spent the day out in Wimbledon househunting (and yes, we did finally find something). He enjoyed his lunch at pizza hut, especially the ham and pineapple pizza, but turned his nose up at pepperoni.

Later in the day I got an ice cream from a very nice looking stall in the mall. When Tommy saw it he wanted some but didn't want to eat it from the cone. So I got one of those little spoons and he insisted on scopping it from the cone. At one point he even pinched the cone from me, insisting "mine!" In the end we bought him a mini cone (mini really was the right word) but he didn't really want that. Next time I'll get an extra scoop on mine for Tommy.

some more pics of our husehunting lol

Spoiling the boy a bit... well a lot...

Tommy absolutelly adores trains...
and the trip to Wimbledon, where we are trying to find a flat to move into, has been a nightmare for quite a while as the time we spend on the Tube is to long and he has the shortest attention span I've ever seen...
The solution was wuite simple actuelly... well... more expensive and all but simple.
We've decided to spoil the kid a bit and take the journey to wimbledon by train!!! :)
The T-boy is happy, and we get happy as well... everyone is a winner...
and it's great to see him smilling and chatting away about the trains!! :) so cute.

Other way we've been spoiling him to much is... as we're always in a hurry to get to ths places we've not been having time to cook... so he's been having what he likes more foodwise... fried chicken!!! lol...

I just hope we can find that house soon!!!

Someone woke up today and asked to bring down with him all the Toys from his bed... lol
That's them watching bits and bobs up there...

The other night, after Tommy had gone to bed, we saw the hall door creep open. As I went up the stairs to put him back to bed the door slammed shut. By the time I got into his room he was scrambling back into bed.

This boy is getting cheekier by the minute.

Crazy...

TB's soooo cute...

He was watching the airplanes and chu chus on Pearl Harbour juast sitting on his chair...
The he etarted dropping and dropping... So I asked him if he wanted to go nite nite... So he got up and stumbled on the sofa, asked me tocover him, turned to the side and fell asleep...
:)
I think I complain load and loads, and loads of the times I have very little patience with him... But undeniably... I am crazy about this little boy!! :)

One of Tommy's library books is called that's not my train. The basic premise of the story is that's not my train, it's wheels are too shiny; that's not my train, it's funel is too rusty and so on until finally we find his train. Yuri went in to his room earlier to find him reading the book saying "this no no my train" as he read the book, finally ending in "this my train."
We went over to Granny's house today to try and cut his hair. She's still in Brazil so I had to do it. Unfortunately the moment he realised he was going to get his hair cut he started to scream and run away. We sat him on Yuri's lap and managed to get about three clumps of hair shaved off before we had to give up. Luckily the cut bits are hidden by the massive layers around.

I was cooking when he asked me to change him...
So I put the food in the stove and change him quicklly...
Once I'm done with him I run to the kitchen to check on the food...
That takes about 3 minutes...
When I see that things are way to quiet... I go back to his bedroom...
And he is all tucked up in his bed sleeping away!!!!
Is that cute or what????

TB the Railway Engineer... awwwww

Ok, it's been the scariest weekend in a long long time!!!
Sacary because Tommy once again has managed to show us we're getting old!! lol

I can remember the ays where he would not let go of our necks whilst in the swimming pool... Yesteday he not only let go of my neck but he swam the length of the swimming pool... not once but 3 times... both ways... 3 complete laps, one after the other... Not just that, but the amount of time he actually spent holding on to me was REALLY close to 0!!!

If that wasn't enough... He built his own train track with the set he's got for Christmas... used signals, tunels curves... the works! And even set the train in motion himself!!! And we're talking about the same Tommy Boy that could only put the track apart!!! He's growing...

It was just like playing with my race track earlier on this week... (I must say... we had LOADS of fun!!!
I can't stop remembering that little thing with no hair or teeth...

Well.. as I said before... We better start getting back to fitness if we want to keep up witht he boy s he grows... ( I know I am already strugling... lol). Rat Races ... here we gooooo!!! lol

We're househunting again and on thw whole, Tommy's been a little angel tagging along with us (of course we're helped by the fact it's meant lots of train journeys).

Yesterday was a mixed bag. Bonus points to Foxtons for their lovely coffee bar and proper coffee. Points removed for making me go down the local pub to use the bathroom. More points for providing Tommy with one of these to shut him up. Tommy loves running around the empty flats and especially loved the house we saw (shame I didn't). On the downside, he is showing his mother's tendancy for car sickness and having felt his stomach turn, we had to make an emergency stop for him to throw up. But he got on with things and we went off and saw another place after.

And he still loves that car this morning.

And I've just looked at the blog to see that Daddy's said all of this already.

House Hunting...

Yesterday we went out house hunting again... this time to Foxtons. what Tommy didn't particularlly wanted to come out of the house... at least not without his ball... That means I had to carry a very bad tempered little boy all the way to the station. Well... fair enough...

Once we got to the tube he was as good as gold though... And I have to say... he LOVES the overground bit of the District Line going to Wimbledon. absolutelly adored the ride.

Mummy was in the same train we were, just a couple of carriages away, so when we got there we had some time to spare so we went to check on the shopps, and take tommy for a ride on Thomas in one of the malls round there... :)

Once we got to Foxtons we discovered how do they conquest their clients... lol... tommy's got a VERY nice and expensive Mini muniature... a copy of the Foxtons ones (see photo above) and absolutelly fell in love with it... The bribe worked perfectly!! lol. and to the parents... well... expensive bottles of whater, capuccinos, expressos... the works... that while we waited... Excelent service as well...

Apart from being travel sick during the visits he was a little angel!!! To bad this time we didn't find a house that overlooked the train lines!! lol...

Good ones, but we keep on looking... at least Tommy enjoyed the ride... and his new ride (the Mini). lol!!!

Sausage

Daddy - Here's your Breakfest Tommy. Onange (orange) and Aple! Hummmm

Tommy fusses arround a little bit, puts his little finger in the plate and revolts the contents of it... then looks at daddy with a very disapointed face.

Tommy - No Sausage???

And puts the plate away...

Sausage... yeap... that's the word of the moment... and tommy is absolutelly addicted to sausage!!! He has to have sausage with everything... Can you believe that???

OMG... lol!!!

Yesterday Tommy threw a temper tantrum because I'm the kind of cruel and heartless mother who won't let him watch Thomas the Tank Engine at 2:30 in the morning when we should ALL be asleep.

The boy knows what a tube map is when he sees one... and no one ever told him!!!
Is that smart or what?!?!!?!?!?!?!

We were going to curch last friday the he pointed to the map and said chuchu trains!! lol

Ok, it might be because of the New CBBies animation show (underground ernie), he loves it... well he actually loves anything that has to do with trains really...

We wached Valiant yesterday, and guess what bit he liked the most?!?!?! The bit they fly near the train.. lol... well... hehehe

For Christmas Tommy got a money box but we'd put it away because it was china and we didn't want him breaking it. The other day we got it out because he was hoarding a few coins and he loves it.

Yesterday morning he was pointing to the box (which is on a high shelf) and asking me to get it down. At first I didn't realise that was what he wanted, until I saw some coins in his hand. It puzzled me a bit as to where he got them from. That was, until I saw Yuri's wallet opened on Tommy's table. The monkey had gone into the wallet to get coins for his money box. We'd better watch out - he's gonna want pocket money next.

Tommy the Daddy!

Yesterday Tommy was walking around with Tio in his arms saying 'beebie, beebie' (read: baby). So I wrapped Tio in Tommy's nappy (he tends to carry fabric nappies as comfortors) so he had a blanket to keep him in. He spent hours wandering around cradling Tio in his arms, treating him like a real baby, making sure he was comfortable and could get to sleep.

chilli's a Hit'ish...

Ok so that's the deal...
Vic decided to defrost some bolognese for Tommy's lunch today, ofcourse I love the idea so I had some as well...
After Tommy's 1st mouth full he started do blog and say hot hot. I thought it was just that the food was hot, but the moment I tried it as well I know what he meant.
Instead of Bolognese Vic had defrosted some (over-spiced) Chill that we cooked the best part of 3 months go. Now getting to my point here...
He thought it was hot but wanted more and more untell he got to the momment where he just couldn't face it anymore which was when he just got up and feasted on Vic's salad... lol

Poor thing.

So yeap... he loves it but a big no no to to much peper on it! lol

zya!
Recently Tommy has being doing anything possible to avoid having his nappy changed. A few days ago he realised I was coming to change him and started pushing me away everytime I got near. Other days he just runs (and he's really quick when he wants to be).

This morning he woke me up and told me he was wet and that he wanted a bottle. I went to get the bottle and left Yuri in charge of the changing. By the time I got back Yuri was fast asleep again and Tommy lying next to him. Yuri got up and tried to get him to move and he just stared into space keeping totally still - like if he didn't move we wouldn't see him. Then when Yuri suggested he got up to get changed, he asked for a kiss and turned over, closed his eyes and started snoring. Unluckily for him we know he's only playing. And he got changed.

New Tommy pictures are here from the weekend. Just click on the link on the side.
Tommy always drinks the bath water. It's one of those things that no matter how much we try to stop him and teach him that it's not a good thing to do, he still continues with.

Last night he was sticking his head straight into the bath to drink the water and coughing and spluttering because it went up his nose. When I asked him if the water had gone up his nose he agreed. Minutes later, he tried again and whilst spluttering away he told me 'nose!'.

Then he threw a cup full of water over the side of the bath so I washed his hair as punishment!

I've just had an argument with Tommy. It went something along the lines of this:

Tommy: Baa baa baa.
Vic: No, moo.
Tommy: Baa baa...
Vic: Moo, moo, moo...
Tommy: Baa...
Vic: Moo...
Tommy: Baa...
Vic: Moo...
Tommy: Baa...
Vic: Moo...

Super Tommy!!!

The more he grows the more he becomes smarter... more intelligent... the more that happens... the more he is a chickey monkey!!! :) lol

Last one... welll... I think he's been watching to much of The Incredibles, Alex had a dream... he dreamed that We went to visit him in Brasilia... and Vic and I had had a new baby... and Tommy was speaking portuguese perfectly! Not only that, he would communicate " telepatically" with Tommy and he wasn't moving his lips... when I read that, had to lough a bit... lol... then I asked Tommy: " Tommy do you have super Powers?" question that he answered with a very eloquent "Yes" by nodding his head... scary uh???? lol... I better start controling what I think in front of him just in case!!! lol!!!!!

And according to Alex... next baby will be a boy... :( I wanted a Girl!!! lol

anyways... gotta fly or will be late for a meeting!

The birthday blog

How can a birthday last three days? Well it does if your name's Tommy.

Saturday started with a birthday lunch at Rodizio Rico. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends in attendance. Tommy seemed to be most impressed with dessert - although not the passionfruit mousse. He also showed a worrying like of a piece of discarded beef fat. But Tommy wasn't there to eat. The highlight of his time was running round and round the table (with various people cahsing him at times) and generally making sure he was the centre of everyone's attention. Oh, and there was the added fun of emptying thousands of advertising cards over the floor.

Unsurprisingly, he fell asleep in the car on the way home. We woke him up to get out and he wasn't impressed. Beth tried to convince him that he wanted to open his presents but he was totally unimpressed and quickly went to bed. Unfortunately for Beth, she left very unhappy, having had to unwrap (and re-wrap) one of the presents to get a reacting from me. He was clearly exhausted by the whole day because when he woke up, the only thing he wanted to do was to lie on the sofa with a bottle (until he fell asleep again).

Sunday we went to Tia Uka's new house: a joint housewarming and Tommy's second party. He was highly impressed with his new Thomas hat and Thomas trolley rucksack, which he dragged all through the mud in the garden, and up and down the hall and kitchen. And there was a Thomas cake. He threw a monster tantrum when he saw it in the cupboard but wasn't allowed to have it, so much so that we had cake before lunch. Tommy (and various adults who are old enough to know better) enjoyed blowing out the candles. Tommy also enjoyed prodding the icing around and ripping the covering off the side of the engine.

Monday was the actual day. Two years old. We didn't make a fuss first thing because he had the health visitor coming. Once that was over we let him opened his presents. The first thing he opened was a golf set. Once he'd got that open he was totally uninterested in anything else. Yuri had to convince him to divert his attention by half opening the next present and telling him he could see Bob Bob (the Builder). Then he went for that one and insisted on having the box open so he could play with the toys. And the whole thing started all over again. Meanwhile, Yuri was getting incredibly frustrated that Tommy wouldn't just open all the presents at once. I personally thought it was very cute - it's not like he's going to act like that with presents for much longer. The rest of the day was spent more quietly. He slept, he watched the Incredibles (another present), played with his new toys and tried to refuse to go to bed at the end of the day. But I think he enjoyed it.

Am sure there'll be some pictures up when Yuri gets around to it - I don't know how to work the thing!

I think I may have taught Tommy a bad phrase.

I can't even remember what it was Yuri was saying, but I jokingly told him to "tell Daddy to shut up!"

Now he won't stop saying it!

Monday, May 08, 2006

Dad brought me back yesterday evening and as we arrived Tommy and Yuri met us at the gate. Whilst we stopped and waited for the barrier to open Tommy tried to open the car door (not helped by the fact that Dad had locked them whilst driving through Brixton). When we got out of the car he didn't want to know me. I picked him up and he launched himself towards gadad (yes,he says it now). I'm quite hurt really. lol

He also has a chipped front tooth. Well ok, chipped might be an understatement - there's a huge chunk missing. At granny's house there's two stairs in the hallway. Normally he's very good and climbs up and down without problems. However, he's recently learnt how to jump. When granny caught him he was standing at the top of these stairs getting ready to jump but as she rushed to catch him he jumped before she had a chance. Hence the missing piece of tooth. I am totally sure he knew what he was doing.

We spent the afternoon researching into the next place to live. Whilst in Shepherd's bush we went to a Chinese buffet for lunch. As usual, Tommy was very impressed to be eating at a table like a big boy (note: next flat must have dining room table). Garlic mushrooms, canned fruit (what sort of restaurant serves canned fruit?) and ice cream were big hits. Aubergine and chicken cashews were not. Guess we still have to teach the boy about variety. Shouldn't complain really though, he does have to get his fruit and veg.
Should we be worried that on passing mcDonald's Tommy keeps saying "Donald's, chips" quite repetitively and pointing?

We're going to the Zoo!

Yesterday we took Tommy to London Zoo.

We were brave and took him without the buggy because we knew he'd only spend the entire afternoon trying to get out of it. He loves walking around on his own and is really good about holding on to our hands - we barely even have to ask. The only problem is, after spending half the afternoon with him on my shoulders, they aches so much. He really is getting heavy now.

He was so impressed that he got his own seat on the train and was really good about sitting still and not trying to run around.

As we queued up for tickets, he couldn't wait to get inside. I swear, if he could've jumped the fence he would've.

Just as most of the kids, he simply had to get right to the front of every crowd looking at all the animals. He got right to the front of the otters' tank whilst they were playing quite close to the edge. When one kicked the tank right be his face he really didn't like it and cried. But he was soon off to see the next thing. He kept screwing his face up and going "grrrrr" because he wanted to go and see the lions.

I think his favourites were the penguins (he kept making his quack quack noise - which is more of a quack-like grunt than the actualy word, but gets close to the real noise), the snakes, the fish, the monkeys (they're in an open enclosure and he kept trying to rush forward and grab them!). But most of all, his favourites were the lions (and tigers and leopards which all come under the category of grrrrrs). He kept shh-ing us when we saw the leopard (probably remembering the sleepy leopard in 'Where's That Monkey' and for a moment considered it to be a goggy (doggy).

And he was even good when it was time to go home. No fuss or anything. Ok, maybe we did cheat by buying the balloon he'd asked for at the beginning of the day but I did resist the temptation to spend £25 on a toy monkey for him from the shop. £3 for a helium balloon was a small price to pay in comparison.

More pics here.

News Flash

Long time no blog again... sorry bout that... been a bit... well... waaay to busy latelly!
but anyways... here goes the new T-Boy newsflash:

He is now forming proper sentences, and taling about almos everything... I still have some troble understanding him as he some time talks a mix of portuguese and english.. and some times just general gibberish thet no one undertands at all.. but he makes himself to be undertood anyways. :)

We've been trying to go out with him without the buggy.. I have to tel you that is a lot of hard work... specially when Vic insists to be out all day and all... lol... but he's been a lot happier with his walkies now that he can actually walk. So cute holding our hands and just walking like a big boy all around! A lot of har work tho... the boy has a mind of his own and sometimes his agenda is not the same as ours... example... do not get near any train station or he will want to go on the chuchu... lol... And when we're on one... or on the bus... he keeps wanting to wander around while we're in movement... and licks a hell of of a fuss when we don;t let him...

Boy's way to smart for his own good most of the time...

It's been a week since he's been spending time at grandma's again... and I have to say... after having him at home for a solid month while I tried and failed to get some work done... I miss him quite a lot when he's not around... but I supose that's just life.

On one of mum's reports today (she calls me or msns me at least 10 times a day to say something TB has just done) seh told me they went to the supermarket today... walking... and as she asked for him to get Milk, Bread between other things he would just reach for it, wander abit looking for it, and then come back with the right thing. As I say... waay to smart! lol... and fussy too... he looked around all the bread to find the one he wantes... brown (the one we buy here at home), then he goes asks Grandma if that's the right one and brings it when she says yes. So helpful! lol...

That didn't stop him from wanting all the chocolates he could find on the supermarket tho!! lol

Hopeless... absolutelly hopeless...

Time to go to bed... full day tomorrow... but got some new pics...

Check it out here, here and here!

Pictures some times tell it all! lol
That means I am feeling to tired or to lazy to write the whole day's activities... lol... and ok... I have to confess that I've been kinda lazy to blog them as well... It's just that... ah... Ok... I'll try to do it more often... no... I'll do it... enough rumbling... click here for some of the pics we took today. :)

For days last week Yuri was trying to get me to give him ideas for a mother's day present. The closest I could get was a possible manicure. Maybe. In the end, what I got was a book I liked the look of from the church bookshop. Good because it was something I probably would've bought anyway.

But, the best thing was the present Tommy gave me (albeit under force - he wanted to keep it for himself) that evening. He made a plate with shiny sticky stars on while he was at nursery. It was so cute and definately a step up from his drawings. I think I might have to go and get him a sticker book so I can encourage this artwork.

Fix Car!!!

That's the newest ready made phrase that Tommy has come up with... lol!

He broke another one of his car (actually it was my nice Chrismas Prezzie Mini Remote Car but hey... if Tommy say "Tommy's" so it it Tommy's... lol) and then he came to me saying "Daddy, Fix Car". Lol... I have to give it to you... Vic might be right when she said that the boy is getting a lot smarter since he's been staying with Daddy at home... :) And I am happy with that. :) Only not very when I can't really work during the day cuz of it... but hey... :)

The fact is that he is really starting to formulate propper phrases and putt them to test.

So cute. :)

Tommy had a huge day yesterday. We started off by taking him to get his hair cut (whilst Yuri was taking photos for the salon's website). We tried to sit him on the chair on his own but he was having none of it so I ended up having to sit him on my lap, at which point he decided to be as good as a boy can be when he doesn't particularly want to be messed. It took some effort but the guy cutting his hair was good, and now he has short hair (which was spiked with gel yesterday) that looks so much better than the uncut mop he was sporting beforehand. With any luck this cut will last for another six months so we can avoid the whole episode for as long as possible.

Then we took him off to Baby Praise. From previous experience we know that he's better there when we're not with him so we tend to leave him with one of the leaders. We went off for a coffee and when we got back we snuck in the back of the room and watched him (without him realising we were there). We went up to him when they asked for all the families to get together and he started hugging us both and wouldn't let the three of us separate.

We had lunch in Subway. I like it coz as long as you don't go overboard, it's relatively low in points. Tommy liked his little kiddies roll. I thought he could be adventurous and let him have salad in it. He took the ham out and ate that first. Then he picked at the salad and ate a bit of bread with cheese on it. Before we left I tried to get him to have some of the last bits of bread which he refused - there was nothing left on them. He was quite impressed with his megablocks palm tree toy that he got with his meal - much better than the things McDonalds and Burger King usually give away. He also decided that he wanted to have his drink in a proper cup like Yuri and I. He had to have a lid and a straw with his drink.

We were going to go to the park but it was so cold we headed across to Oxford Street to get us all some gloves (seeing as we cleverly left all of ours at home). We also managed to get some birthday presents for Tommy - some more books and the Incredibles DVD. Yes, we're bad parents, we let him watch TV if he wants.

Whilst Yuri and I were at the Praise Party Tommy went to nursery. He was quite happy to run around and ignore us. By the time we'd registered him he was happily sitting in a police car (much more fun than one of the regular cars) and we thought we'd make a quick exit before he realised we were going. No such luck. He saw us start to leave and said "bye bye" and waved to us. Finally it seems that we're starting to make progress from the regular screaming and clinging until he realises it's all ok. When Yuri picked him up he had a lollipop of wisdom which he'd found in a game. Unfortunately when you start to eat the lollipop of wisdom it becomes very sticky and sticky hands are yuk yuk. Needless to say, the sticky lollipop of wisdom went in the bin when he wasn't looking.

And, the icing on the cake: he slept until nearly 10 this morning!

Roarrrrrrr!!! :)

Tommy is impossible... :)
After haven most of my dinner (whch I can;t really complain about... let's say I am not quite the veggie sort of guy... lol), and making me reccord a Bob The Builder VCD... just so he could whatch one episode... lol... came the sleepy time fight. lol

But he is so cute! we spent the best part of 10 minutes asking Tio if the tooth of the lion on "That's not my lion" was yuk yuk or not. lol...

He's growing so fast. We left him at mum's for the last 3 days and when Isaw him when I picked him up today... I was in shock. :)

Our little baby is a propper boy now....

It was great to see him waking up from his afternoon siesta and see me and say Daddy!!! and run so I could pick him up... then hear everything he's been up to for the past 3 days... even tho I can;t understand much of what he says... :)

News tho... he now likes to go for walks. He gets his shoesys... take them to you so you can put the on him and starts: "Come on walk!" lol... and pulls you on dorection of the door till u take him. Sunday we're taking him swimming. Definatelly... Sunday, not tomorrow, because tomorrow we're trying to get his haircut! while I photograph Amazon... :)

LEt's see what happens... lol

Zya!

Friday, March 17, 2006

This evening when we were trying to get Tommy to sleep, he sat in the semi-darkness of his room with "That's Not My Lion" open in front of him, asking Tio (his toy lion) whenther the lion's mouth in the book was yuk yuk!

He also threw mini tantrums because Yuri wouldn't take him swimming and then because we didn't have a Bob Bob dvd to put on for him. Thomas just wouldn't do.

Monday, March 13, 2006

Whenever Yuri and I are on the phone we always try to get Tommy to say hello. I say try as it usually ends up that we hold the phone to his ear and he listens to whatever the person on the end of the line happens to be saying.

Yuri gave him the phone today and I actually had a conversation. He kept saying "mummy, it's a car". Now I wasn't too sure what he was going on about as I was fairly sure that they were at home and it's not like you can fit many cars into our box-flat. In the end I had to cut him off because no matter how much me or Yuri told him, he wouldn't give the phone back to Yuri.

It turns out that the car he was telling me about was on the TV. Yuri and Tommy spent the day watching The Fast and the Furious and Too Fast Too Furious. Talk about constructive play.

Sooooooooooooooo Much fun!!! Poor tommy was exhausted at the end of today!
After spending the whole weekend chasing after poor humby (hamby... well whatever u spell HandBag like... Well.. that's not her name, that's how I call her is the closest I could get... lol... and btw, she is Bethany's cat) and having as much fun as you can get without Daddy (which I have just found out that this is quite a lot... and that he only remembered of me once!!!)... but hey continuing the story... after he cabe back we went to the Rain Forest Cafe .
We've posted some pics we took there, click here to see them.

He was dead impressed with the huge Butterfly on top of our 1st table (1st because we asked to be moved to a more... central position then they moved us to sit beside the fish tank which was a HIT... Tommy lofed the fish!! lol). And he absolutelly adored the big moving monkeys on the walls. At least it looks like if becaus his jaws actually fell oppened when the Monkey moved right in front of him and then he said "Hello Monkey". So so soooooooooo Cute... hehehe...
He was absolutelly overwelmed with everything going on arround. The Sounds of the forest arround, the animals moving, the FishTank, the big "bootyfly"... no wonder he wasn't much interested on the food... apart from stealing fryes from my plate and Vic's. Oh well... he sort of demolished the Hana banana whatever... I say sort of because I had to eat the "yacky yacky" cream from the top of it so he could have the banana and some of the ice cream...
Not complaining... it was quite good!
Apart from the "salty" price of the bill at the end, it was definatelly a hit!!!
So, we pretty much have an idea of where we're going to comemorate TB's birthday... at least as a treat... :)
After that we went to church where aparently he participated of all the activities on the nursery... and had loads more of fun!!! When I got there to pick him up he was dancing and bouncing holding on to "Tio"(his teddy lion). We're actually thinking about putting him on the Hill Nursery as a "part time student" if we move closer to Nothing Hill. If not... well we'll see.
No wonder he was fsat asleep the moment we boarded the bus on the way back home...
Bless his Soul... :)

Welll gotta get some z'sssssss...

Yesterday (yeap... it's 4am of next day now...) he helped me making sandwiches!!! and he Did his own one as I was making my breakfast. He asked for Butter, so I buttered a piece of bread (that he parted in 2), he asked for Cheese, so I gave him some (and he put it inside the bread) and he closed it, waited for mine to be ready and sat down with me whatching Thomas the Tank Engine as we ate together... :)

And he is now saying full sentences and all!!! :)

Ma'boy!!! he is growing!!!!

I can't believe it!
I don't know if I start more seriously on a diet or it I forbid him to whatch Thomas the Tank Engine!(The fat controler... I am pretty sure it's his fault!) lol!!!
Ok... the diet it is then... lol

gotta try and work a bit while he is distracted with PostMan Pat... so...

This evening I took Tommy to the supermarket with me. Walking. Luckily I only had a few bits to get because it was certainly a challenge.

On the way there, he couldn't make up his mind whether he wanted to walk or to be carried, which is getting a bit much because he's gotten really heavy all of a sudden.

Throughout the supermarket he kept throwing himself on the floor and screaming when I wouldn't let him go down the particular aisles he wanted (i.e. I don't want half of Elephant to see him make a dash for the bottom alcohol shelf!).

As we left the supermarket he made a dash for the Bob the Builder ride and I don't have the heart to refuse the first time he asks. However, when he got off and decided the Tweenies ride was the way to go, I wasn't going to start emptying more coins into the thing. Which was fine, until I decided that there'd been enough sitting on rides and it was time to go home. Cue more throwing himself to the floor. I'm quite proud of the way I handled myself: no trying to drag him away, no screaming or shouting, just let him get on with it and we were soon off on our way again.

He enjoyed pushing his way through the revolving door at the entrace to our block but there was more throwing himself onto the floor (again) when I wouldn't let him stay and push the button for the lift more than once. And again when I wouldn't let him go up the stairs instead of down. And again when he decided he didn't want to go any further.

Then he decided to roll onto his back and giggle at me. He got up and crawled off, then stood and ran all the way back to our door, giggling. That few steps and the part where he gave Bob the Builder a kiss made the whole thing worth it.

Thursday, March 02, 2006

Most evenings Tommy's already had dinner by the time I get home. Yesterday, seeing as Yuri was trying to look after him and work, he didn't. So well all sat down together and ate. Unfortunately we don't have a table to sit at (our flat's too small) so it's very hard to teach Tommy that he should wait until we've all finished before he goes off to play. Instead, we settle for letting him run to each of us (usually trying to feed us our own food).

After a while, he got bored. The next thing we know, he's taken his half full bowl of pasta and put it on his head. Everytime we tried to take it off, he got there before us and clamped his hands over it saying yuk yuk.

I should admit, it's my fault. I taught him to use those bowls as a hat. What can I say? Normally we give him a plate.
The Boy doesnpt seem intersted on stopping to grow!!!!
Lol...

After not seeing hm for 2 1/2 full days he seems to be a LOT bigger than I remember!!!!
Explanation... I had to wake up and leave for a photoshoot on monday at 5 am and he did not wake up untill about 8 and when I was back... a little surprise.. mum had kidnaped him.. lol.... (Vic had Weightwhatchers meeting to go and mum could not stay for much longer so she took TB to her house... problem is that I could not get him till wednesday... but hey!

He is saying full phrases now and actually making himself be understood... which in itself is a problembecause now we know what he wants and it is usually something we can't let him have... but hey.... :)

He is staying at home latelly. We've had to make some cuts in our budget and let's say that £140.00/week is a but to elevated for us... Specially when the Tax Credits don't cover much of it... But that's not the Point... My point is that I now know all the CBBIES programs songs and they are stuck in my head!!! lol!!! Don;t take me wrong it's been a great to spend time with him! Love it he's so funny... lol... To bad I don;t have much time to Work.. lol

Solutio for that is... Mum has decided not to go back to the US as she had planned... and decided to stay in the UK and take care of Tommy as long as we need. Which is great becaus he spends hours on the window looking for "Vovo" (Granny in Portuguese).

Must make sure he goes to the next Cell meeting... His lil friend Samuel couldn't stop saying "Where's Tommy"... aw cute!!! lol...

anyways... gotta try and get some't done.

Once a month we take him to Baby Praise which he seems to enjoy (as long as we're not in the room with him - we spy on him from the upper levels of the church). From this, he's picked up the way they pray. This weekend he's been grabbing our hands and putting them together, putting his together, and then saying his little prayers.
Tommy's learnt some new phrases. It's quite exciting because for the first time, they're not just words or expressions. He now says 'it's a' (usually car) and 'look at the'. He's also, thanks to teletubbies, learnt to say bu'erfly. He sings too. The song goes 'Tubbies. LaLa.' over and over again. Ocasionally you can convince him to throw in Po but he always goes back to the same. He sung it all the way from Canary Wharf to Seven Sisters yesterday.
